Scope / Goals

The aim of the initiative is to standardize machine-machine communication for pumps and vacuum pumps in order

  • to reduce the integration effort for pumps and vacuum pumps, its installations and devices within diverse plant arrangements;
  • to enable identification,
  • to control and/or maintain operation in real time,
  • to detect in advance failure or male function
  • to ensure efficient and sustainable use

It deals with the bi-directional communication of pumps and vacuum pumps and devices within installations, complex plant arrangements

  • among each other,
  • with peripheral systems and
  • with a generic measurement and control system, i.e., higher level manufacturing systems (e.g. MES).

Additionally, the setting of information parameters regarding the pumping process (e.g. max. or min). The basic description of pumps and vacuum pumps is supplemented by selected use cases (Identification; Design; System requirements; Implementation; Condition Based Maintenance; Preventive Maintenance; Breakdown Maintenance and Operation).
