This specification describes the behavior of an OPC Server which stores data in some form of database, and how Clients can retrieve it using OPC, covering:

 

  • Overview and purpose of Historical Data technology
  • Overview of general architecture and methodology
  • Detailed descriptions of interfaces, methods, parameters, and expected behaviors
  • Detailed descriptions of aggregate functions with example queries and results for each
  • Detailed descriptions of data types and structures
  • Sample code (OPC Server) containing interface definitions and error codes
